I dont think that was the right thing to do. None of those problems with terrorism or with Iraq has been solved. All thats been happening is killing of soldiers, crazed sucide bombers, and civilians. This war has turned into a religous war. Muslims against Christians. I also think its too late to pull out of Iraq now. I believe that nobody in the government knows a damn thing about how to stop this war or how to get out. So I guess for years to come the government is going to be wasting billions upon billions of dollars on this useless war. All of this is just my opinion, What do you guys think?

I hate this stinking war, but was glad to see Sadaam ousted. Remember that Islam started this with 9/11. I know that wasn't Iraq, but they are contributors, not little sweet innocents. Just wish so many didn't have to die. I don 't know how it will end, but it will end. Viet Nam did. Korean War did. I sometimes feel that no matter what America does, world will hate us. If you don't like our government, remember, we are just people here too, and not different from you, really. We just want to eat, love, and have a bit of fun. Raise our kids and pet our dogs. I would help you if I could, whoever you are, and try really hard not to be selfish and greedy. I am not sexually immoral or any of the things some Islams claim about U.S. folks. If I had to shoot an Islamic, would probably then want to patch up his wounds and feed him half my lunch. So would he do same for me? I really hope so...

It really depends on what perspective you view it from. For the Iraqi people I do indeed believe we did the right thing. Saddam Hussein was a brutal dictator. The people of Iraq suffered under this man. While I agree that it unfortunate that there are currently so many terrorist attacks in the country, we must stay the course nevertheless. We cannot now abandon these people. In the end the people of Iraq will benefit. They do have a freely elected government for the first time in many of their lives. Police and defense forces are being trained and will eventually reach a level where they can defend themselves. Given time, patience and perseverance Iraq has the potential to become a jewel in the desert.

I believed we should have finished the job of removing Hussein in the first gulf war and also believe that the circumstances would have been vastly different if we had, but alas we will never know. War is never easy, especially on the citizenry, but once undertaken the only proper course is fight to win and see it through to the end.

Once the country is turned over to the citizens they will be able to determine their own fate. All our efforts may be for naught as the country may slide backwards, but then again it may not. The simple fact in my opinion is that the people of Iraq deserve at least the chance to live free and in the end determine their own fate.

I think in a way it was all too hasty, but you can not for a second deny that if left alone that these extremist countries that are teaching 5 year olds to shoot all that are infidels...IE: non Muslim are going to be fair to deal with at any negotiations. Just look at how many times these countries have been ASKED to join and follow international laws etc and they ignore it all and demand their ways in our country. I have seen people stoned to death in the streets and poisoned by these maniacs..their own people, and yet they are still following their leaders. BRAINWASHED tyrants and they come to all the other free countries saying they seek asylum and then attack from within the country that adopted them. I say that any way one can stop the murder and the torture of the innocent not only in the so called free world as we know it, but also in these underprivileged countries..I say it is worth every cent and should continue until the maniacs that run them are gone, along with their followers. Everyone condemned Hitler for what he done, look closely at these maniacs and see who is worse, or even better, if you think I am racist or an idiot, GO THERE and try to speak freely or vent your frustrations as you do here. If you decide on the latter, tell your family where to come to collect your body if they are allowed to, and are able to find out if you ever were there at all, as you can be dropped off the planet over there and never seen again.

Not I!! With all the lies Bush has told to get into this illegal war in Iraq, thousands have died (mostly civilians along with U.S. and Iraqi forces)! It was a seriously grave mistake from day one! And you saw the end result of the mess he made! Now it's time to thank the President for increasing the risk of terrorist attacks even higher here at home and worldwide! We can be the next terror victims all because of Bush's failed and mismanaged war and resulting occupation of Iraq!!!!!!!!! Oh, did I forget to mention that his war is UNWINNABLE?

I personally think it was right. Saddam had to be removed from power. He was a cruel dictator, who murdered his own people. The initial problems with Iraq have been solved by removing Saddam. New problems arose since them.

Regardless of whether it was right or wrong, We're there now. It would now be wrong to pull out, as the country's government/economy is in turmoil. There was never a point at which it was early enough to pull out. This point was on board the warships/aircraft before they crossed the Iraqi borders. If we pulled out now, it would revert to feudalism, and a new dictator would emerge from the rubble. We have committed ourselves to this fight, and can't pull out before we have ensured that it will be safe for the native citizens.

I think it would be easier to accept the lives lost in Iraq if in the end their sacrifice made the US and the world safer. Unfortunately that is not the case and I sympathize with people, especially families of service men and women, who don't want to believe our people died in vain. However I agree that we can't pull out yet. To paraphrase Colin Powell "we broke it so we have to fix it". That could mean pulling back and letting the Iraqi forces take charge, but keep a significant force near buy, perhaps in Kuwait, in case the Iraqi's can't handle it.

the war between muslims and christians has been going on for centuries. the muslims see the US as the corruption of the entire world and pray for our annialation off the face of the earth. Now they got nukes...can you imagine a suicide bomber with a nuclear bomb...i don't think it's so crazy to try to stop this madness.
the US has tried to stay out of the middle east for a long long time.
but now the threat is too great

I don't know that I agree with any of Bush's decisions.... he has no idea what is good for our country because he is so far removed.... I apologize to those people who think ALL American's support Bush... I never voted for him so he does not represent me! :-)

Should've rebuilt Afghanistan first. Since it shares a border with Iraq you would had a great platform to exert positive influence on Iraq.

But, it was all traded away for a quick sweeping attack...
