My house is infested with little flies which seem to be breeding in my shower drain. How can I get rid of them

You have drainflies which are feeding on bacteria that are in your drains.

I would call a pest control company and ask them to order you a product called "draingel". You pour in into your drains at night (after showers, baths). It will eliminate the drainflies when used correctly.

You might also try Home Depot or Lowes, they may have something that is somewhat comparable.

The trap in your shower drain is very likely providing a lovely wet breeding place that is full of dead hair and soap scum - which clearly is attractive to these little flies.
Use a good drain cleaner ( I like Draino)
DO NOT stand ready with anything but rather leave the room while it works as the fumes are very dangerous if you breath them in.

You can put vinegar in a container and cover it with seran wrap with little holes poked in it. The flies will go in the container but get trapped by the seran wrap... I've tried this with fruit flies and it worked so it should work with your promblem.

Try Lysol products, the foaming cleanser or maybe the sanitizing spray. Lysol kills some bugs like spiders but not all like ants. I think this would be healthier than spraying pesticides in an enclosed area.
