I'm 7 weeks 2 days (yay!) with twins & this morning i woke up with the worst gas pains. not the worst i've ever had but they were quite uncomfortable. i know its gas because obviously i've had the pain previously (not while pregnant) & they're high, mid-waist. anyone had any gas troubles this early on? if so, what helped ya? i took a warm bath and it seemed to quiet it down a little. any OTC meds i can or cant take?

oh...the horrible horrible gas...but no fear...beano is safe, and immodium ad helped me. i had it so bad that when the baby first started to kick, i couldn't tell if it was the baby or just my dinner wreaking havoc on me. i had it from about 8 weeks onward...up to delivery...otc meds helped a lot, but they didn't get rid of it entirely. it's normal...hormones cause your intestines to be quite sluggish, and having pressure on your sluggish, gas-inflated intestines always makes it worse. have fun, and good luck.

You can take tums, rub your tummy while laying down flat and try to expell the gas. At least get the bubbles out of your ribs and that will help. You're 7 weeks- you can probably still lay on your tummy although with twins I'm not sure. If you can lay on your tummy try that. Try drinking some soda too. I know it's painful.

Yes, I had severe gas pains early in my pregnancy...in fact, I thought something was horribly wrong till I finally just let it loose one day...sounds gross but felt so much better. As for what to take, I dunno...call your doc and get suggestions.

Call your doctor and ask what you can do to help relieve the pain. While pregnant it is a good idea to see what to do from your doctor!! Congratulations on the twins!!
