Yes, you need to install and enable Java. It is quite safe!

Java is disabled in XP2 by default because Microsoft want to promote .NET and no longer supply their own version of Java. Download it from Sun (you will probably be prompted to do so when you log on to Yahoo Games and go to a Java game).

They wont work, because Java is disabled as a default on XP Service pack 2. I don;t know why.

It is safe to download, but you will need to enable java in Windows Networking/Internet advanced options

I have windows xp, also, but when I would play the games on Yahoo, it would only allow me to play them a couple of times, then if I didn't order something w/ credit card, it wouldn't allow me to play anymore, so I hardly ever go there, anymore.. Call me cheap, but I'm not going to spend my money on computer games, when I can spend it on real games for my kids, or anything else! My gosh my games on my phone are free, and I pay for my online service, you'd think alot of these sites would think about that, and not try to charge us for everything!! Its so "Ridiculous!!!" Good-Luck, to you!
