Yes!
I notice this mostly when in traffic. Even when eyes make contact, there still is hardly an acknowledgement of contact with a fellow Earth co-habitant. ;-)
Life is very stressful for a LOT of us now and unfortunately schools never taught and still don't teach people how to take 10 minutes each day to focus on creating the kind of day we want from the inside before we begin our days and before we step outside to 'do' our day.
As a result, most of us leave home feeling disconnected with ourselves, barely dragging, instead of feeling cheerful, focused and bursting with enthusiasm and love of life that powerful creators feel.
So when we see or interact with others, it's just a shell looking out... no warmth, especially with strangers with whom we feel no connection.
The thing is that that 10 minute 'setting of the day' routine opens our hearts and helps us feel connected to all Life... nature, other people, and all other life forms everywhere. With an open, connected heart, the day flows better with more synchroniciites and miracles.
Smile inside with self every morning, feeling love, wonder and connectedness with who we are and we have more to smile about with others as we appreciate and light up with awe at the miracle of other....
Great question and here's a big smile and hug coming your way!!!
Blessings and create a GREAT day!
Angela.

Dear Ravi,
There is no doubt that personal tensions and professional pressures have taken the smile away from people's face to a large extent. Every human being experiences such things when they are approaching their mid 30s. Then they learn to be peaceful and happy on their own.
You seem to see more of such people because you probably fall in the age of 27 to 33 years are are yourself too much stressed. So just try to be with the 50yrs+ people and under 10 year children and you will see that people are happy.
Regards,
Mustufa

Because everyone gets stressed about everything these days, even little things, myself included. People are always so busy and in a rush to get everything done. No one sits quietly and relaxes anymore. Most people want to be doing something and there's nothing wrong with that, but we also need to slow down , take a break and breathe. We need to enjoy the little things everyday like looking at the clouds, listening to the birds or going for a walk on the beach!! Doesn't that sound good?!

Just yesterday, in a Cheese Cake Factory, the bartender seamed irritated and frustrated, I double check my perception with a friend, he verified my claim. I asked her this "Can I ask you a question?" she tried to blow me off but saying she was a ghost bartender and was just there to help the other bartender, then she realize that was not nice and was ready for the question. I asked "Can you recall the last time you laugh so hard you wet yourself?", she stopped and looked at me and said with a big smile "well I almost wet myself last week" she continue to explain the rest, once she was finished I asked her "do you remember what you were wearing?" she said "Yes pajamas". We all laughed and then others started sharing their experiences too.
It is amazing what a question, like a command that order the mind to focus on something else, can change the attitude of an individual that is willing to except something new to think about.
So, whatever is going on in the minds of other, just remember, if you ask permission and they are open to something new to think about, you can help them smile again.
Oh ya, she stopped with the sourpuss face the rest of the day.

Maybe because a lot of people are having a hard time during these days... most of them are under stress. Because of the current events happening in our world they are trying their best to strive. Just understand them, smile at them, smile at them if they smiled back at you, keep at smiling at them even though they didn't return your smile. Stop smiling and run away if they run after you for being annoyed. (JOKE!).
Seriously, just try to be nice to them, as an old saying goes, "Smile at people when you are above them, because when you are low, in return, they will smile at you."
And that's the way it is, don't fuss too much about them not smiling, just be happy and smile.
Besides, if they are too busy to be smile, smile for them. That'll help brighten things up. :)

Their mind is focused on ideas that cause a strain internally and their face reflects it.
