Working on a ship is like working a job on land. Workers of all skill levels are needed from janitors, to boat captains. Check with the company you wish to work for.

They say that it's hard to work on ship because it's very dangerous.
I have tried to work on cruise ship but my parents didn't allow me, ( I currently work in a call center). I have took different trainings and paid a lot on it. I didn't go to school to get good training but I think if you really want to have good training and experience, you should go to maritime school.
I would still consider working on ship soon only if its passenger vessel that takes 3-5 hours to travel.

What type of work are you planning to apply with. Apart from technical aspects of ship works (ie. engine and deck department), cruise ships operates like a five star hotels. It has five star facilities such as casino, hotels, recreations, restaurant and fine dining, security, etc. There are schools that offers such courses for the shipping industry (ie. Culinary, bar tending and hotel staff functions, such as front desk and reservations staff to chamber maid and laundry task).

learn languages and people skills and it very hard work, espeacially helpful if you can get a skill like beauty hairdressing sports therapist or chefbecause alot of the people working on ships do 2-3 different jobs

Had you mentioned in which class you are it would have helped.Anyways after you finish schooling then join any merchant navy course it will equip you with the skills needed to be in your chosen field once there you will have choice to pick later.
