I just decided to take out my nipple ring about 20 mins ago. I had a regular kind of piercing and have had it for just under a year, I just decided I didn't want it anymore, does it require special care such as salt water or spectro jel?

I would just keep the area clean. By now the area would be well healed and that would be sufficient. If you are over concerned you could use spectro jel as a backup but not requited.

Just wash your nipples as you did when the piercings were new until you see the holes have completely closed over. Depending on how well the piercings were healed it could take a couple days or a few weeks for this. No gel.

I personally think the special care should be WHILE removing the ring from the nipple. OUCH

clean the area good and make sure your hands are clean and just remove it. That is all that is needed, if you want it to heal quickly then use some triple antibiotic ointment after it is removed.

Just some neosporin and a band aid to keep it from getting on your clothes.
Congratulations on taking it out and welcome to true adulthood.
