I want to pursue a career in diving and would like to find a dive internship to get me up to divemaster as a minimum level, but preferably dive instructor. I'm from the UK, but would like to go abroad to do this,so a full package with flights would be good. Also somewhere that has all the equipment (to keep) included in the price or for hire would be advantageous.

A balance between cheapness and quality (i.e - good company + location) would be favourable.

Do it via your local shop. I have far more respect for a BSAC or a cold water diver, than anyone that did what you're proposing at a warm water destination. Let's face it. Your home waters are far more challenging and require that you are the best diver you can be. It also means that you'll have the experience to pass onto others, no matter where you ultimately teach or DM. I feel the same about some of our divers here (Canada) doing their gig's in Fla or Cuba. A waste.
You can enter into an agreement with a local shop to do exactly what it is you're after and not starve in a southern locale.
If you REALLY want to do this in a warm water destination, log into the PADI pro site ( or get a pal who has an account do it) and look in the employment boards in there. Over half of "jobs" posted in there are for what you seek. Most will let you sleep on the beach for free, eat what you catch, work you to death with inferior gear, and promise to hire you (maybe) for a grand pay of nothing the first month, maybe 300 for the second and there might not be employment in the third. I've actually seen some ads that were worded that way, especially for Egypt.
I sound like a cynic? Yup, for good reason. No one I've known that has gone this route is currently working as a diver. Everyone I've known doing it the first way I mentioned, is.

check out this web page http://www.realgap.co.uk, they offer lots of stress free arrangements that covers to far east as well which is a good location for diving - 100% tropical water (being in a foreign country can be tough but going through them is an assurance)

wow thats a tough one...the best bet is apply to dive shops, etc that are in a big city in the area you are looking for, most dive shops round in south carolina, i know teach students to dive although i did have an offer once to go to mexico to teach diving, but i was with the dive master for a fulll year...try the scuba boards also...good luck
