Start off erring on the side of smart, you can always dress down later once you get an idea of what people wear from day to day.

I'd got with a smart pair of black trousers and either a plain shirt/blouse or smart jersey top.

A pair of classic black courts with a small heel to finish off the outfit and you'll look smart, efficient and relaxed!

Good luck - I hope you have a great first day and love your new job.

Nothing! It's good to make an impression...something that they won't forget. Alternatively a smart outfit, nothing slutty, look like you mean business, but add a few soft feminine touches ie a pair of earrings or a pale blue blouse. The most important thing is what you do when you get in there, although first appearances do mean something, so smart but not too fussy and minimal makeup and a practical haristyle ie tied back in a bun if long and off your face so you look like you're there to work and not going to a party. Good luck, I'm sure that you'll do well, as you are already making an effort.

If you are not sure what to wear, then you should be fairly smart on your first day. You can then see what other people wear and dress appropriately from then on. The worst thing you could do would be to turn up looking too casual.

Pencil skirt, White blouse and Suit jacket. Followed by a Smart pair of Black Heels or Flat slip on Shoes. Wether its in Black, Grey or Pinstriped, this will look both Casual and Smart. Congrats in your new job and best of luck for the future. x

Don't wear a suit, wear separates. A smart skirt or trousers, a shirt and perhaps a jumper or a scarf to jazz it uop a bit. Wear some nice jewellery too. Good luck.

I personally would recommend black slacks, a white top and either a cardigan sweater or a blazer to dress up the look. That way if the other employees are more casual, you can take off the blazer/cardigan.

Dress it up a bit...
if you set a high standard...without going overboard...
thats what people will expect from you...
if you go to far the other way they could think you a slob
not a good tone for day one...

think of it this way if you find yourself over dressed on day one then tune it down a notch the following day...

BTW ...congrats on the new job!

Wear one the dogtooth checked calf length skirts that are trendy this winter with a nice black skinny shirt. Alternatively cant go wrong with black trousers and a smart shirt. Remeber to accessorize!

SOUNDS LIKE MY JOB....

The kind of things I wear to work are -

Trousers with a nice casual top and some pointes

Pencil skirt with a pair of boots

You can wear black (which looks smart) then jazz it up with BAGS,BELTS AND JEWELLERY.

Good luck with the new job. x
