Never went to one. Missed the first one but the stories that followed convinced me I didn't want to go.
Stories of wives getting drunk and hanging all over everyone, except their husbands, office people asking questions about personal lives, people shouting at each other and fights starting.
I never had the inclination to see the people I worked with getting staggering drunk and make azzes out themselves.
I HAD TO work with them, but I DID NOT have to socialize with them.

I don't work yet. Honestly though I would feel real uncomfortable being in lunch I don't like the idea of being eaten.

I don't mind them really that much because you usually end up getting a bunch of free food. Except whenever you have a family reunion or something like that you have to bring something.

All that stuff is what the company feels it HAS to do for the employees and then the employees feel like they better come to it and act like they have a good time.....or else!

i love them my team mates are a bunch of morons and they always do the funniest things...my family gets a kick out of them also...

i like them most of the time....but we had like 12 over the summer and i got really sick of them......
