There still are many radioactive elements and their radioactive offspring deep within the earth. With every disintegration, small amounts of energy are released with no place to go. Even though the crust is cooling and giving up the heat generated below, the radioactive decay makes up for the loss. A Geiger counter will detect radioactivity in many natural materials at the surface of the world such as granite but that does no cause any temperature rise because the "heat" is nil and easily escapes. Many of the radioactive (heavy) elements have very lengthy half-lives. There would be no volcanoes without the small additions of heat within the earth by trillions of natural decays.

In addition to the geothermic heat that our earth's core puts out, there is the energy of the sun that warms our planet.
However, the real regulators of our planet's temperature are the oceans and the greenhouse gasses (Water vapor, CO2, methane, and Ozone).
The greenhouse gasses are a necessary atmospheric component as they allow our temperature to remain stable, but in excess they will cause overheating (look at venus for an example of this).
