The problem is they don't have a role model at home.
Many of the black youth you see getting in trouble most likely don't live with their dads or even know them.
Rap is just a style, its what you put in it that makes a difference.

its the way society is designed that lets down many of our your ppl in general- its hard to believe that you have a viable future if where you come from has problems subconsciously they may feel they're too poor for anything 2make a difference & that therefore they can't make it- there have been studies done on all the continents about this & donesn't just affect black youth & u don't just find it in the real poor areas.
Another issue with us (cuz i'm a black yout m'self) is where we have no consciousness of the need for survival until very late so we fixate on girls & ipods & friends & gettin' the new phone while our parent(s) struggles & b4 u know it ur landed with the same nuthin' our past generations have been trying to get us out of
this is especially prevalent in what i see of the black youth
but one of the truest generalisations is simply that percentage wise very few of us black ppl have entrepreneural minds or whatever it is that say asians or the jewish have that breeds a togetherness in the family which translates well when used in the business quarter
but our discoveries as well are not publicised as much as other people's therefore we see no role models; did u know that almost everything in your kitchen the fridge, freezer, toaster & more were invented by black men, there's even a new invention to be fitted on car seatbelts that will save millions of children allover the world who're unfortunate enough 2b involved in a car crash but i bet it won't be publicised that they inventor was black at the same time, i wonder if it should b

Your Drs., Lawyers, Astronauts and Inventors are out there. You just don't see them.
What you are shown instead are drug dealers, black people who murder others (whatever their origin), rap artists, con men etc. Your pride went when the generation of blacks that were born here failed to communicate to the generation that they parent(ed) that the struggle continues and must never be abandoned. When playstations, wide screen TV's, prestige cars etc replaced the ethos of community, of the whole village raising the child, rather than each to their own and stuff those who are not part of my family or are not one of my friends. These were values that were brought here from the continent and the Caribbean. And these are values that are not alien to, or incompatible with, British society but increasingly, it is heading that way.
Those who know better do better.

Who invented Red Stripe and the Giant Spliff.... ? Yes - you are right where is all the Law abiding Black Youths...why are they not knuckling down and paying attention at School . because of Gangsta Rappers making money out the the easily impressionable youths ... I know several Black people in very good positions who have been verbally abused by Youths of their own race...calling them white backside lickers etc... ! strange isnt it .. That is why I feel that someone like Condi Rice should run for President - A Black person to say here is where I reached .. instead of A Black person who keeps ranting - look where we have come from..

This is all yout'....not only black. Its all down to the acceptance from the older generation...more so in London. This is due to the parents...allot of them single, that are struggling with money, housing...etc as the list goes on. If the parents allow this to happen at home no one is going to get anywhere. They can't be asked puttiing down rules and values as they have so much to cope with already....and for people like 50 cent to be a role model well shoot me nine times...my priorities seem way off.
The way you are as teenager comes from when you were 2...what was allowed and whats not. Where i come from if you speak to an adult like some of these yout' do to their parents you will be given so much grieve by random older people. This is not the children's fault but the adults that's accepting it. Like the new craze playing your music on public transport for everyone to hear...no one is going to say a word, due to being scared to be assaulted or no caring enough.

They are ultimately letting themselves down.
Its a shame they "fink" it's cool to be a Gangster - they know what they are doing is wrong - if they die in the pursuit of their goals to be rich, through crime, who cares if they die???
Everyone knows what is right or wrong, you don't need a role model for this, as everyone is endowed with some common sense and a conscience. Those who ignore their common sense and conscience do so on their own head...

Because Political Correctness has stopped people being able to say to them... "What you are doing is wrong!".
If anyone in authority speaks out like that they get automatically accused of racism and stand to lose their postition.
