Adolf Hitler (April 20, 1889 – April 30, 1945) was Chancellor of Germany from 1933, and "Führer" (leader) of Germany from 1934 until his death. He was leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP), better known as the Nazi Party.
Hitler gained power in a Germany facing crisis after World War I, using charismatic oratory and propaganda, appealing to economic need of the lower and middle classes, nationalism and anti-Semitism to establish a totalitarian or fascist dictatorship. With a restructured economy and rearmed military, Hitler pursued an aggressive foreign policy with the intention of expanding German Lebensraum ("living space"), which triggered World War II in Europe when he ordered the invasion of Poland. At the height of its power, Nazi Germany occupied most of Europe, but it and the Axis Powers were eventually defeated by the Allies. By then, Hitler's racial policies had culminated in the genocide of 11 million people, including about six million Jews, in what is now known as the Holocaust.
In the final days of the war, Hitler committed suicide in his underground bunker in Berlin with his newlywed wife, Eva Braun.

Adolf Hitler (April 20, 1889 - April 30, 1945) was the leader of the Nazi party NSDAP in Germany from about 1921, and the leader (Führer) and Chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945. Hitler is one of the most famous and hated people in history.

The history of Hitler ended only a bit over 60 years ago. Ask your grandparents.
His beginnings were only 76 years ago.
Do you know nothing about President Roosevelt?
WW II? Pearl Harbor?
They both came into power about the same time.
Are you just a toddler? Talk to anyone in the neighborhood of 75-80 years old. Most are pretty intelligent.

Adolf Hitler was undoubtedly one of the greatest mass murderers in history, and is best remembered for his persecution of Jews in the 1930's and 1940's. Some six million Jewish people died in concentration camps, and another six million (at least) Poles, Slavs, Gypsies, mentally challenged, gay, political prisoners, and miscellaneous individuals were also killed under his regime.

He was the son of some Austrian poor folk. He moved to Germany to try his poor painting skills, lived in the gutter and later became a soldier in the Germany army, fought in WW 1 and rose to the rank of Cpl. He became Chancellor of Germany in the early 30s and started the WW 2, killed an estimated 6 million Jews and was responsible for the deaths of millions of others due to that war he started. That is who Hitler was.
