This is not always the best way to tell if a how is the best, but it does tell which show was the most popular. Jeanie ran for 5 years (65-70) while bewitched ran for 8 (64-72). In some senses that means that bewitched was better. Personally I enjoyed Jeanie more, but then I liked Deep Impact better than Armageddon and Thin Red Line better than Saving Private Ryan.

Bewitched!! I dream of Jeannie came out after as a way to counter the success of Bewitched. I liked both, but Bewitched had higher ratings and lasted longer on TV in its original air and in reruns.

Bewitched. Jeannie had to stay hidden because of her harem outfit. Samantha blended in with the mortals.

They were both male dominated house wives I think. Jeannie was kept in a bottle & Samantha had to give up her magic for her husband - I dont think so! Love Nicole though so I'll say Bewitched (Samantha)

both great shows i don't think either was better than the other. but bewitched had 1 husband played by 2 different actors. endora was the best character on bewitched.

Jeannie was a ripoff of Samantha. The only good thing about her was that her master was J. R. Ewing.

I liked them both, but I give Jeannie the edge.
