If you are not aware of your God-given gifts, you cannot possibly hope to use them. If you don't know you got a bike for christmas, you can't go for a bike ride, now can you?

Because if we didn't then we would be searching for some greater truth to some other revelation of divinity. We look for meaning in the arbitrary and we seek recognition for our beliefs. God's gifts should be taken into awareness because it feeds our innate sense to attach meaning to everything! In my personal opinion, I believe in a God. God's gifts are important because I give it meaning and because it means something to me. This is not a question of whether or not you think it's important to be aware of these gifts, but a question of whether you attach meaning to it.

Awareness is the first step in knowing what you have, what you are able to do and what you can become.

its a bit like if someone gave you a hair straightner for christmas.
all wrapped up nicely.. if you didnt open it up to find out what it was you wouldnt be able to use it for its purpose and a good gift would go to waste.
if you dont know what gifts you have been given there is no way you will ever learn to practise how to use them..
