So when Pebbles and Bam Bam had twins, boy and a girl, would be see more of the Rubbles then.

Interesting question. Since Pebbles was the main characters's daughter I think you're right; If the boy was the Flinstones and the girl was Barney and Betty's then it might have been different. I hadn't thought of it that way before.

I don't know about Pebbles and BamBam having kids but I do know that in the Original series (The Flintstones) Hanna and Barbara were going to have Fred and Wilma have a boy. The head producers and marketers nixed that idea and had them change it to a girl because marketing said Girl dolls would sell better.
This was the first industry decision for a cartoon that was made by marketing and not the creators.

NOW today look at the marketing. The dolls and cartoon are created at the same time, and if they decide the merchandise won't sell the cartoon doesn't get made 90% of the time.

The Flintstones were immensely popular in the 70s and into the 80s when they were one of the three after school choices available to children. When cable TV became common and video games became more complex, the Flintstones kind of went away.
