i found a black spider in my house in oklahoma and it has a red dot on its bam what kind of spider is it and is it dangerous

Based on your description, no one can give you a definitive answer as to the identity of the spider you have seen. There are lots of websites with pictures of spiders that you can use. A Yahoo search for "spider identification guide" (include the quotation marks in the Yahoo search box) yields 233 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find the information you seek.

If you were in Australia i would be worried as our "red back spider" (2nd most venomous spider in the word) is black with a red back. I'm sure there is no Red Backs in the USA but put it in a jar and ask an expert incase it has a family in your house.

Sounds like a Black widow. If you look closely (although you shouldn't go too near it as its bite is venomous) you will see the dot is actually an hourglass shape. Get some bug spray or a solid work boot and smash the thing.

Being an aussie I would normally say its a redback spider and yes it is poisonous. But since you are the the US I would think it might be a black widow which is a poisonous relative of the redback spider.

any spider with this coloring is usually one to watch out for. Good chance it is poison

i would say a dangerous one, sounds a bit like a red back, i live in england but my bros, lives in australia and he's told me about them.

its a black widow......just to be sure you should pester it till it dites you....if u die, it was a black widow.......or u could just kill it
