Respect and communication are definitely the top two for me. You need to be with someone who treats you decently and understands you.

yes trust, communication, respect and space are all great in a relationship but also tenderness and sensitivity are also good in making a good relationship. =)

space trust and being a best friend is the most important thing...i make sure early in a relationship that i could stand being around my man 24/7 and he can stand being around me that much before i even try to make the relationship work....my man is my bestfriend that i love and trust dearly....

Other than love there are many things that are important to me. Things like consideration, happiness, sense of humour. My wife has a great sense of humour, but it is rarely that she uses it. Other than love there is, I think very importantly, the active-ness. Lazy people end up blaming each other for everything that goes wrong in their lives. People who are active in their thought and action get things by their horns and pave ways through mountains for themselves.

communication is important, accepting the other's differences, and letting the other person have space to do what they enjoy doing (provided that it's not cheating on you), because if they can't do what they enjoy, it's hard for them to be the person that they are.
