Gays are not pedophiles. Pedophiles are not gays. There are pedophiles who like kids of the opposite sex and pedophiles who like kids of their same sex. There is no connection between these sexualities. One is a malfunction of the psyche, which includes sociopathy; the other a genetically determined sexual orientation.

The GOP are opposed to gays, even tho Cheney's daughter is gay and Phyllis Schafly's son is gay, and Randall Terry's son is gay, and on and on, because that's how the GOP markets itself. It has nothing to do with their feelings or opinions, it's all about manipulating their ignorant base.

There are so many republican pedophiles because a republican is much more likely to be a sociopath than a democrat is. It's hard to be a sociopath and be a democrat, because democrats value the rights of others and sociopaths don't. Republicans of bush's ilk don't value the rights of others, and so you have a pretty big intersection of republican and pedophile.

It's been going on a long time. By the way, republicans are masters of projection. Virtually everything you hear bush, cheney, falwell, et al decry is something you can be sure they are doing.

This whole affair made me laugh so hard I almost voted Republican! I think the ultimate, beautiful, hand-crafted, gilt-edged irony is that the perv was the one responsible for, nay, entrusted with creating legislation to prosecute sexual predators. And they say god doesn't have a sense of humour...
