I didn't think they would.
I thought for sure, when they had the bases loaded and 1 out, and Brandon Inge at the plate that he would smack a single to win the game.
Yes, I am very disappointed....but at least they are in the playoffs for the first time in 19 years. Considering where The Tigers have been the last 12 years, that is amazing.
Regardless of what happens next, I remain a Tiger fan though and though.
GO TIGERS!!!

I am honestly surprised that they lasted that long before losing the division. I thought that it would have happened much sooner after the all star break. No one wanted to make a run until the Twins during the last couple of weeks. The Yankees will run over the tigers and then whoever is left on their schedule...

I didn't think it would be on the last day, but I had a feeling it would happen. First, because I'm a Twins fan, and second, because of the the way they (the Tigers) have been playing in the last couple months, and the way the Twins have turned around their season in the second half. And to lose it by being swept by the Royals! That is really rubbing salt in the wounds!

I was hoping that they would so that the Yankees could get em. They were playing way over their heads so now its a free fall to where they should be - home for the holidays.
Yankees in 4.

Im a Michigan resident, and a lifelong Tiger fan...And I honestly thought that the way they were playing the last six weeks of the season...they would lose. They have played as well as their starting pitching carried them, and key injuries and a young team being tight, caused them to CHOKE. Yes ...thats the word...it was theirs to win...but they couldnt pull the trigger....

We knew it was a possibility, but what's done is done. No use crying about having to go to the Bronx. I'm just glad they even have a chance at the WS wherever the road goes through.

I knew they were going to lose. They have lost a lot of their momentum and I wouldn't be surprised if the Yanks take it 3 games to 1.
