There are so many things to take up a day from hobbies to redecorating the home. Go to a arts and crafts store and look around for some new hobbies. Try the department stores as well. The library is another good place for ideas. Another thing is join some activity in the community, volunteer somewhere. And last but not least get out and make new friends. I have started a list to go see but put in some more Yahoo searches titled hobbies, arts and crafts, redecorating etc.

Learn. God forbid if your ever too ...old...to learn. Grandma Moses took up painting in her eighties. My father was an inventor until his death at 66. What Im saying here is find something to do that will raise your level of self esteem and accomplishment.
I am totally convinced that whats lacking in America is not opportunity but classes on how to access it. Too many people are obsessed with Why cant the government do, or I cant, because when in reality invention and advancement start with an idea.
If your not sure what to do than find someone you admire or respect and ask them what makes them happy. There are countless stories out there of people who commit themselves to something and overcome adversity. Read one of those, like Wilma Rudolph the track star, from the library. Build a foundation of interest and skill on something you believe in and your investment of time and emotion will be returned.
I had a career change recently. Ebay has ruined my business of collectible appraisal. Now every idiot with a computer and a garage is an expert, so I learned computer maintenence. I by no means am an expert but Im learning and Im happy and frankly I could give a fat rats what anyone else thinks. Do it for you.
Though Im far from a liberal and dont belive in the politics at all....Ted Kennedy said it best at Bobby's funeral in the sixties.
Some people look at things as they are and say why, my brother looks at things as they never were and said why not?

Why don't you go to your local library and talk to your reference librarian about finding a hobby. Libraries also often have free programs (i.e., lectures, events, musical events, etc.). You probably have a community college in your area. Why don't you find out what activities they have for the community, or if you are 18 or older, perhaps you could audit an interesting course in drama, dance or whatever you're into. Check with your local hospital and see what kinds of volunteer opportunities they might have. That's a good way of becoming involved in your community and helping others at the same time. Contact your local office of Human Services/Social Services to find out about county wide volunteer activities. If you are civic minded, you might want to become involved in your local Medical Reserve Corps. They are a group of people who volunteer and get trained in crisis response and help out in a lot of different ways if there's a terroristic event or natural disaster. Contact your local Health dept. for more information on that. You can join the MRC if you are a teen and your parents provide consent...

well, you should find yourself some interests. e.g. if you are quite an arty person, why not do life drawing, or pickup photography, that way you can walk around and about and take marvellous pictures! if not, you should try out all sorts of different things, to really see what can suit you best! i really hope that you will find something suitable for you(find a pen pal!).
all the best, hope you will find a cure to boredom!

When I am bored I go around on my racer bike. Sometimes I dance (the hell with my two left feet) , I sing too just to call the heavy clouds over and bust my neighbor's eardrums. You might want to try one, Girl.
