i don't know the longterm effects of these drugs on fertility. But it is really easy to overuse these things when put under extra stress so be really careful after the baby is born and moniter how often your use. remember two kids are a whole lot more than one kid in the work and stress dept. you sound like you care for the child you already have a lot so I doubt that will change with a second baby. But I used to smoke pot, which isn't quite the same thing, I know. I did it twice after my first baby and then I started thinking about what would happen if anyone ever told child services. Thats why I stopped. So I hope I haven't stepped on your toes, I mean no harm. I do know how it feels to be the kid when things get out of hand, though. My parents lost control of their recreational activities after I was born and I ended up in foster care. Doing cocaine and extasy are not bad in themselves, but child services could always use that to take your kids away no matter how good a parent you are. If you want to IM me feel free.

If its alright with you to take class "A" drugs like cocaine and Ecstasy then maybe trying to get pregnant now isn't the best choice. You need a healthy body to be able to carry a Healthy baby. Maybe instead trying for a baby you should try to get you life straightned out first, decide what is important to you. Having fun or Having a healthy family.

I don't know about your chances of getting pregnant, but you are certainly reducing your chances of having a HEALTHY baby.

Cocaine in particular is really bad for pregnant mums. It reduces blood flow in the placenta and in the developing foetus and can lead to all sorts of birth defects.

You have to at very least make sure you're clean and going to stay that way before you even consider having a child - that's just thinking biologically, let alone the social problems of the poor mite having to struggle through life with two druggy parents (or being taken away from you because you can't cope).

Stop for at least 6 months before you try for a baby - for the stability of your relationship and the health of you and your baby. It is less of a matter as to whether it has affected your fertility (or indeed that of your partners, which is slightly more likely) but whether you both have the ability to refrain from further use when life is less fun with a baby around. Make sure you know before you try that you can both do it.

I know thats a bit preachy - not meant to be. Honest!

I have had loads of fertility treatment. Drugs have to be out of your system for months. This even includes prescription drugs and over the counter medication. It reduces the chances of conception and can also damage the baby if you have any drugs in your system.

Male sperm cannot be collected for all IVF/ICSI procedures if the man has drank alcohol in the past ten weeks.

I will not judge anybody because I am not in there shoes. but please stop because babies have to be weaned off drugs. Plus they cry a lot more and have lots of health problems.

Hey Girl....

No I don't think you will be less fertile... I know a few people that have taken drugs in the past (BUT NOT WHILE PREGNANT FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE THINKING OTHERWISE) both men & women but have still conceived perfectly fine with healthy babies... So don't worry about it.... More people take drugs these days than we realise and just because we do take the odd class A now and again doesn't make us crack heads! :) Good Luck with everything......

you are right you ask a ?
this is what I would advise you: I am not and can't not tell what the effect of drug can do to your fertility but I heard that it can effect the man more
anyway you guys only use for recreational purpose & you are saying that you will stop so your next step is to go see a doc
have him to a sperm count for your partner if you guys have being trying to TTC for long that might be the problem
Good luck

We can only hope your sporadic drug use has left you and your partner less fertile. You and your partner should concentrate on getting your own act together before you consider bring another person into the world.

Those are illegal, harmful drugs no matter how many times a month you use them. I seriously hope you quit drugs not only for your future children's sake but your own sake! Well, since these drugs kill off brain cells, I would be concerned about them reducing fertility too!
