Yes, his wife is an attorney who loves to play mind games. He told her to do her job and get there divorce papers written up. She did and they both signed them. I have access to court records in the state we live in and no divorce has been filed in either one of their names. This was supposed to have happend at the first of this year. I hate to tell him I have been nosey and looked this up, but at the same time I think he needs to know his wife did not accually file the papers with the court. He thinks he is free and clear date other people now. What should I do here???

I agree, I think she's trying to set him up for adulty and take him to the cleaners. He was very conciencous about waiting until the divorce before he considered dating.

till there's a legal order in position, she's interior of her rights. baby help is a thoroughly separate difficulty from custody/visitation. i recognize that once my ex and that i divorced it became written contained in the non everlasting orders that there have been to be no "in one day" visits with all of us of the different sex at the same time as the youngsters were round. (And certain, they could do this.) would not count in case you stay with him or no longer. If it truly is contained in the papers that the choose signs and indicators off on, it truly is the way it really is. once the divorce is very last, that non everlasting order no longer stands. If HE filed for divorce, he could actually have filed non everlasting custody orders. He left the living house, left the youngsters there devoid of any custody arrangements. Divorce would take time, in spite of the indisputable fact that it would not could take over 2 years (if, in reality, you weren't round earlier the divorce became filed). And who cares if you're wealthy? it truly is were given no longer some thing to do with some thing.

You could get in a lot of trouble, BUT, that should be covered under the Freedom of Information Act, so yeah, tell him. And he might be a little put off at first, but he will probably really appreciate the info.
P.S. Did she send him some kind of official documentation in the mail from the courthouse? Because, if she did forge them she could be suspended from practicing law and the court would more than likely grant the divorce in HIS favor and that would teach the b----
a big lesson.

this is funny....!
Don't you guys know that all well 98% of all divorces you have to go before the judge to have them granted. I haven't been through one yet that i haven't had to go..
Tell him to think about it.. He must be a real friend for you to jepordize your job for.. Snoop.. But I have an idea you like him more than just a friend and wanted to find out when he was legal. Tell me you aren't the wifes best friend also..
Yes tell him before he does something stupid.. and tell him to tell her to file the papers so he can get on with is life. just because you sign a piece of paper don't mean a thing until the judge tells you it means something..
So tell the guy, and save him a little time and money.. tell him to get his own lawyer. they generally don't cost more than $500.00 to get your divorce.
good luck.

<> In order to have divorce papers signed a divorce would have HAD to have been filed first. If the both of them signed divorce papers then they ARE divorced, or were these just the separation papers? There IS a difference

You need to tell him asap. I would tell him that the reason you were being nosey is out of concern. You know how his wife is and wanted to make sure everything was on track the way like it should've been. Then tell him your "discovery". He won't be p*ssed at you but probably very grateful. But whatever you do, tell him and very soon.

Dear God, the best thing that could happen to him is for him to have less freinds like you to start with. DO YOU REALLY NEED ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO IN THIS CASE? Gee, lets think on this about two seconds. Would you consider him a freind if he didnt tell you something like this and help you out?

Why are you just NOW wanting to tell him? Are you interested in him yourself and don't want to do anything because of the Information?
Also, if you are mates, then why haven't you told him as well as HER? The wife needs to be called on the carpet for deceiving him...

She's setting him up for adultery so she can take him to the cleaner. Be careful though because if she finds out that you were the one who slipped it she could come after you and your job.
