The Ally Pally reffered to must be in UAE as that was in the previous question. (Not to be confussed with Ally Pally in North London)

It was me!

Ahhh! Now there's a question.

You will find varied night life in AUH depending of course on where you go, who you mix with, what type of guy you are and what you like doing.

Ally Pally is a bar in a hotel. It's actually The Al Ain Palace but christened The Ally Pally.

It's what can be described as a tourist spot nowadays. All visiting businessmen, new expats etc. get taken there by their hosts as an eyeopener to, let's say, the decadent side of AUH.

Treat it as a joke, as most do, and enjoy the experience but do not savour the goods on display, unless of course you go for that sort of thing?

Most people stick to Heroes (their spelling not mine) in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, or Harvesters or RockBottom. You could also try 49ers in the Dana Hotel (nice ride up in the sky elevator - great band) but it can be frequented by the same sort of clientele as the Pally. Or go really upmarket at Le Royal Meridien (good jazz band) or Hemingways in the Hilton (never been myself but heard it's good)

Best advice is just get out and about and you'll soon meet people and find what suits you

Best of luck.

Sorry Andrew I cannot email you for some reason.

And besides, my opinion of AUH is not that good; hated the place, couldn't wait to get out and glad to be back home.

cheers

I've heard Alexandra Palace in London referred to as Ally Pally.

Ally Pally is the affectionate name for Alexandra Palace in London. I do not know what you advised not to miss but it was probably some type of exhibition.
I attended many exhibitions there over my working years.

My parents always refered to the old Alexander Palace in London as Ally Pally, it was an old fashioned dance hall where they used to jive in the 50's

Yes, it's near Muswell Hill. The first British television programmes were broadcast from there due to its location. It was severely damaged by fire a few years ago and restored. There is a magnificent organ there which is being restored to its former glory. The hall is often used for exhibitions these days.

i'm guessing it quite is for David Guetta? it is extra handy via underground. Get the Piccadilly line to wood green and then get the W3 bus from around the line - this bus will take you real outdoors best buddy Pally.
