My husbands biological grandfather was his grandma's first husband. For heath history reason's we would really like to find this man's family. His mom and grandma are "not talking" about any details. All I have is a last name and the place were my mother in law was born. Any ideas how to find this man's first name and any other info without involving my mother in law or granny? I'm not sure if I can get a copy of mom in laws birth certificate since she is still alive. I have no idea where grandma and this man married either. Any Ideas???

If she was born in the U.S. and actually has a birth certificate, yes, you can request one from the Bureau of Vital Statistics in your state. She doesn't even have to know. You just pay your fee and they will send it to you.
