Yes, you will need your birth cert to get your passport. The good news is, it's very easy to get a new birth cert issued these days as they have all your data in the computer. All you need to do is go to the Birth & death registration office and bring your ID card. They will ask you to fill up a short form and pay RM5. They check the computer, ask you several questions and five minutes later, your new birth cert is issued. Best of Luck!

U can get a passport if u have a IC. If u do not have one (below 12) than u have to use your birth certificate. Birth certs can be obtained from the hospital that u were registered when u were born. U only make police reports if u lose your IC.

You need the new IC with the chip to make a passport. No need BC unless the picture of your IC is different then maybe. If needed you can go to police station to report and bring the report and your new IC to Birth & Death registration Department and appy for a new BC . You get a brand new BC with a new number.

if you already have one, you don't need. they only need your IC. But if you are applying for the first time, i think you'll have to reissue a birth cert again.
