Eggs are sold by the dozen here. Some burgers are called quarter pounders, and the weather bureau gives the wind speed in knots. Not to mention the showing of news footage on TV.

Eggs at my supermarket (Eastern suburbs Sydney) are sold in packages of 12 going by the weight eg 750g... American fast foods chains in Australia sell their burgers by quarter pounders probably because it's a trademark but generally local shops dont.. they just sell burgers... not sure about the wind speed in knots ... personally I thought that was what speed is measured in when it's wind speed but there you go I don't know everything :)... not sure also about news "footage" .. how else would you describe it????

Well, before I saw the answer by the native Australian, I was going to answer that "Yep, they're metric... take a look at the speed limit sign when you're out on the road." or "Seen a supermarket with prices by the pound yet? I doubt it."
