I'm going to Mauritius in about two weeks and am trying to sort out my car transfers from the airport to my hotel and also the excursions I want to go on.

I have contacted about three or four companies who all want me to email my credit card details, expiry date and three digit code at the back of the card should I wish to proceed...

I really don't want to do this. They cannot accept Paypal as Mauritius is not one of the listed countries which can receive it. I cannot do a bank transfer as I will be charged to do so... I also doubt they will let me pay on arrival [in case from their point of view I don't show up]...

I really don't know what to do.. I really do not want to email or fax my credit card details to them for obvious reasons....

A cheque would take too long to get to Mauritius and woudl take ages to clear.. and I'd get charged again and I leave in 15 days time..

Can you drive? If so it may be easier just to contact one of the large companies, possibly the one who you have booked the holiday through and organise through them to rent a car while you are abroad or even if they can organise a transfer for you, that way you are going into the shop and paying for it there and then without you having to email any personal details

Correct me if im wrong but doesn't your credit card company cover you for any fraud that is done on your account without your knowladge?

I know Barclays do this i believe most if not all major companies cover you for any loss.
