Go jogging or do some form of aerobic exercise. Great fatburners! As far as "how long" is concerned - it depends how much fat there is to start with.

Use gravity instead. Any weight routine that can be done with weights can also be done without weights. You'll have to do more reps, of course. Sit-ups, crunches, side bends, hip thrusts, camel backs, leg lifts, leg crossovers all work those muscle groups and don't need weights. For aerobic exercise -- walking, jogging, swimming, cycling, group athletics, Pilate's, yoga, martial arts all use these groups without weights. The most important thing is to find a routine that you can enjoy doing for 45 minutes most days of the week. Start with 15 min a day and work up to it. Change the routine for variety. Mix and match strengthening exercise with aerobic exercises for the best workout.

walkig jogging etc is great for cardio fitness, but she will need to do strength training as well. For her stomach she could try crunches and hip flexors (lie on your back with legs together and up in the air and your hands under your butt, then keeping them straight lower them to the ground then raise them up again and repeat) Do three sets of 12 reps for each and try to build up the number of reps to 30. When working your stomach you must be careful not to hurt your back. Practise sucking your tummy in without holding your breath. This will help support your back during exercise. For thighs and butt I suggest squats and lunges.
If you buy a fitness magazine it will have lots of ideas for exercising and how to do exercises correctly. Diet is also important. Just cut out junk food, sugar and saturated fats. Eat lots of fruit veg wholegrains (like brown bread and cereal) and lean meat, and drink heaps of water, at least 6-8 glasses per day.
If you write down everything you eat each day it is easy to see what bad things you are eating and stops you from sneaking naughty snacks. Eat 5 or 6 small meals in a day, and space them all about three hours apart. Good luck and don't give up!

Tell her to do cardio, like running or kickboxing, as least three times a week, until she gets the desired results. But you also need to warn her that she needs to pair it with a good diet and strength training in order to get the best results. She also needs to keep up the routine in order to maintain what she gets. You'd be surprised how easy an exercise routine is to keep up once you get into it. It makes you feel really good and it's a great way to relieve stress.

Plenty of aerobic exercise ( at least 30 minutes a day), coupled with a healthy diet of chicken (no skin), fish, lots of salad and veggies, rice etc. No cakes, sweets, cookies, crisps, fizzy drinks. Follow this for 6 days of the week, but leave one day when you can relax and pig out. This stops your body from thinking you are starving so doesn't lead to you laying down extra fat as a survival mechanism (one of the problems with other diets).

Lot's of cardio training. Join a sport or go jogging. After 6 months you can really CLEARLY see the difference, but not only will your friend loose the weight, she will feel much better and she will express that towards other people as well. :)

Besides the usual cardio, try using a topical cream. One I've tried that ACTUALLY works, is FDA approved, and 100 % guaranteed is SCULPTIQUE from BeautiControl. Get it at www.beautipage.com/
