He already has the skills, has proven that he can score at will (is 81 pts in a game proof enough?) and he has shown his ability to take over when the game is on the line. He has the best coach in Phil Jackson, and he has the great Lakers organization behind him.
What Kobe needs is a healthy season, some consistent backcourt support, particularly from the perimeter (which I hope Radmanovic can provide this year) and post (Kwame and Bynum must flex their muscles underneath). He also has to trust his teammates more and hone his leadership skills.
Give or take another two to three years, Kobe will get another ring. I'm sure they will surprise everyone with a good playoff run this season.

A better team - no matter how good an individual is it takes a team to win a championship. More specific he will need to find his "Scottie Pippen" - someone who is very good and compliments his game but is willing to be in the lime light because there can not be two super stars on that team. We already know what happens then...

hes in the same boat as kevin garnett, and the NBA is showing that a superstar cannot do it by himself. So kobe was dumb for thinkin he didnt need shaq.
