I agree with what others have said about remembering that not everyone is comfortable with the "wild web" and not all people have the search skills I've developed over the years. It's easy to forget that things which seem simple now weren't always that way.
At the same time, it does seem silly that so many questions can be answered with nothing more than a link to a Wikipedia page.

No. Easy is a relative term - what is easy for you may not be for me and so on.
Most people who are using answers are using it because it fits their comfort level. Some people are intimidated with the WWW that would not be with Answers.
Also there are some VERY young people here - don't want to discourage them or anyone else.
I do think that people should do a search for their question before asking - often theirs has been asked, yes - a million times before. In fact, it should be a requisite for asking on most categories - not all.

I also at times get irritated reading easy questions but then i realize that instead of getting irritated i shud help the person by answering his/her question (and yes gain points). What do you say? Answering questions helps me 2 gain points n also the other person who asked the question. So don't get irritated n get going!

People can ask whatever they want. It is your job to filter out and decide what questions you do and don't want to answer.
But of course, yes, it is very annoying, the level of maturity the questions are being lowered to lately. People don't seem to know what a real question worth asking is. I have written questions about this myself.

I too get irritated by the simple questions that are often posted here....but then I remember that not all people are as resourceful as I and sometimes we are here to teach, rather than get pissed off and chastise people.

I do find myself chuckling a little as I simply Google for the answer and find it on the first result--but as one of the answers said so wonderfully it is for us to help those not as resourceful as we.
