No one else will have to pay for it and it falls under a category called bad debts for the credit card company.

It will pass to his next of kin, once all the estate's assets have been liquidated to service the debt (plus lawyers' fees). Then a court or tribunal will have to work out a repayment plan. It's inescapable!

They go after his heirs...I have heard of creditors contacting the wife or adult children to get the money,
But the bottom line is, you can't get blood from a turnip...so the jokes on then when/if you die in debt.
