The following are some points that make maths with nature:
1. start with Mental mathematics. Take a class 3 -5 workbook and do mental mathematics. They are more like puzzles and you will enjoy solving them and also have fun.
2. Then try to calculate numbers and solve basic operations in your head without using a calculator. You will have the temptation to get your calculator but resist it. It is like taking the steps in place of the Lift.
3. There are so many wonderful websites on the net which make maths great fun. Check them out.
4. Try to remember Phone numbers, house numbers, e-mail addresses, birth dates of your friends and relatives.
5. Do real life algebra and geometry problems which will make you realize the power of maths and how it can trigger your imagination.
A quote says,
" Mathematics is the language in which God has created the universe."
" Mathematics is the only Certainty in this world, the rest: a Probability"

the fibonacci series is supposed to contain a whole load of ratios of things you can observe in nature ( like length of twig between leaves , how much growth some shells make every year). You could try a net search on fibonacci and nature or fractals and nature to see if you find anything interesting.

nature is science. sciance is nothing but a collection of facts from nature.
let us now consider the human body.
the length from the end of the thumb to the fist joint ( upwards ) gives you the approximate value of "an inch".
also the lenght from your shoulder to your tip of the forefinger gives the measurement for "an yard ".
the number of rings in the trunk of the tree gives you its age.
here's another one :
the number of times the grass hopper chirps is approximately equal to the atmospheric pressure.
also we can calculate the latitude, longitude and the height using some formulae ( which i am not aware of ) with the help of our dear old sun during solicitice.
you can refer tinkle digest or tinkle for more facts.
