My last "womenly" was due on the 29th Sep. But i didn't get it. I am now 4days over. But today when i woke up i was "Spotting", it was Brownish at first, then went red...and now it has slowed down and is changing colour to Brownish again....Does this mean that i'm not Pregnant?. Or is it normal in the first few weeks to spot some red?. Please help. I'm really worried as i AM trying for a baby. I have been looking after myself and taking Folic Adic for a few months now. And also...i am going away for a holiday soon(in a few hours), so it would help me loads if anyone could get back to me before i go. Thank You

Also again(sorry about this)

My sister is Pregnant, and she took a test about one week into her missed bleeding...and it came back a NO...she took another one about 3weeks after and it was a YES

I have taken two...one the day of my missed P, and another Yesterday, both have come back NO. It says to try and wait one week or over to get the best count.

I hope all went well on your holiday. It sounds to me like you are not yet pregnant. It is not unusual for women to be a few days late, especially with the symptoms described, especially if she really wants to be pregnant.

You can actually worry too much to interfere with your normal cycle. This will cause your body to prevent pregnancy.

The best thing you can do, is to relax and keep trying. Perhaps a nice cup of camomile(chamomile) tea will help you relax. Your body doesn't want to conceive if it is stressed, so relaxation is very, very important.

Good luck.

I believe that what you experienced was your period. It may have been delayed and irregular due to stress. If it were implantation bleeding it would not have been red. Implantation bleeding(spotting) can occur 6 - 12 days past ovulation ( 8 - 10 days being the norm). It can last 1 - 6 days. It is normally a brownish pink mucous. My ob/gyn said that if there is any red spotting or otherwise to consider it a period. But all women are different so if you feel as though pregnancy was achieved the best thing to do is get a blood test. My doctor doesnt put a lot of faith in hpt's. It can take up to 2 weeks after missed period before a positive result is seen. Good Luck, hope everything turns out the way you want it too. Have a great time and your holiday.

The best thing you can do is not worry about it. You are not that late yet. Over the counter pregnancy tests detect hormones that your body puts out when it becomes pregnant. Sometimes it takes some time for the hormones to build up enough for the test to detect them. So, even if it came back as a no, it may be wrong. You can get false negatives - but rarely false positives. So, I would suggest that you go on your holiday, take good care of yourself. Limit your alcohol, caffine and sugar intake. Take your vitamins daily and wait. If you are going to be on holiday longer than a week, I would take a pregnancy test with you so that a week from now you can take it. If it still comes back no, I would schedule an appointment with your doctor. Best of luck and relax. :-)

I wouldn't be too worried about this especially if you are not on the pill....it happens to me and most other women who are under a certain level of stress. However, I would make an appointment with a gyn/ob before you go on vacation so that when you come back you can go in just to make sure.
Also, look in you phone book as most local hospitals have a program called, "Ask a Nurse" ....when you call just explain to the the RN what is going on and that person will give you all the answers you need to set your mind at ease.

The day that I found out I was pregnant (a week after I missed my period) I had brown spotting that whole day. I haven't had any since and am now 10 weeks. wait the week, you may have gotten pregnant late in your cycle and that could be why you are spotting. Also, remember, it is best to take the test the first time you pee in the morning, the hormone level will be stronger.

Yes, you may be pregnant, go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist which of the tests are the most accurate. Then take the test. If it's positive make a gyno appt for asap upon your return. Be careful on your trip -- dont get on any wild rides at amusement parks!!!
May I ask how old you are, what your situation is?
