Gay, bi, straight, they're all just stupid labels. We fall for who we fall for. So it's perfectly possible that your friend likes you.

I think at 17 he probably hasn't had enough experience with either gender to define his preferences.

However that isn't your problem. Look at this from a different point of view. Take out the "gay" factor. You've got a guy hitting on you that you are not interested in. Gay or straight, tell him to knock it off, no means no. Distance yourself from him if you have to, there is no reason for you to feel uncomfortable around someone and accept his advances just because he's "gay" and you don't see him as a threat.

It is possible that this guy was bisexual or heterosexual all along but didn't realise it. You hear of "heterosexual" guys suddenly discovering that they are bisexual or homosexual, so why not the other way round? Whether its due to change or self-discovery is unclear, as psychologists are divided about the possibility of one changing their sexual orientation.

I was "gay" up until the age of 16, and then I fell in love with a 17 year old girl. This didn't confuse me at the time, since I felt my same sex attraction was a "phase". Since then, I've had various same sex and opposite sex attractions. I am now aged 30.

Recently, I feel as though I'm shifting away from my same sex attraction, and feeling stronger desires towards the opposite sex. At present, I feel as though I shifted from a Kinsey 6 (exclusively homosexual) to a Kinsey 1 or 2 (which means predominantly heterosexual but "more than incidentally", or "occasionally" homosexual). Whether I'm changing, or am just discovering my true self, remains inconclusive.

No, but at your age, he may not have been totally gay in the first place, just thought he was. Or he may be after you right now because he's beginning to feel the pressure of being gay and wants to try not to be. If you like him, give him a chance, if you don't feel that way about him, tell him so. You're both too young to make decisions about your sexuality that limit yourselves for life.

I think the Ancient Greeks had the right idea- god i love reading up about them. Listen it is normal to have feelings for people of same sex or opposite sex. although i love sleeping with women, i have, a very long time ago had a couple of relationships with men...to explore my sexuality. he may be doing the same thing. dont hate on him, he needs you more than ever now...goodluck
Ps. you are the envy of many girls...you've turned a gay guy straight. lol

No, sexual identity isn't fluid. Gay men like men not girls that doesn't change, it is a facet of their existance. Odds are your friend is Bisexual, most people who identify as homosexual are. In reallity only a very tiny portion of the human species doesn't have lingerring sexual interrest outisde of their designated sexuality. It's also possible he's just taking a try at being straight. Be nice to him. You'd want him to be kind if you were in his position.

most certainly, it is a more natural progression than hetero to bi or hetero to gay

Your question is wrong. Anyway, he likes you & probably fantasises about you being a lesbian. Maybe he watches too much lesbian porn. Explain to him that you are not a sex toy & if he doesnt stop, you will break up your friendship with him.
