My external harddrive is not opening to view my files, this drive is used soley for my music collection, the drive wont let me copy the files to anywhere, is there anyway i can save these files before i throw this drive in the bin as i have a lot of rare music on it?

1. Try the drive on another computer. 2. Take the drive out of the enclosure and install it in your pc as a slave. I had this problem once, and it was a enclosure problem. The drive was fine,.Your external may have a power supply problem.

You should be able to copy (not cut) the files off the external to your hard drive. Create a new folder on your hard drive & copy over the external's files.

your hard drive is copyrighted,must be the work of a spyware,try going to properties of a file and uncheck the read only check box

you could try to make an image of that drive and save it to your intrnal disk, try using "norton ghost"(freeware)
