how does your barcode reader work?
many readers work as if they are a keyboard ie you could intercept any key press on the form, not assigned to a specific control
if its a serial or USB device then its a bit harder, you will need the serial control that came with VB MSCOMM? USB dunno, probably shoudl work OK as a serial device

What make is the barcode reader. You'll have to give more information, does the barcode reader come with software?
