Could you tell me if you also been unnaturally tired and depressed the next day? I am not sure if I like my equalibrium to be disturbed if there is not a scientific reason in it's favour.

I went to a psychiatrist who gave me a tape to use for hypnosis to lose weight. I found it so relaxing I always feel asleep during the tape.I also went to a therapist who did hypnosis in person.
But the best experience I had with hypnosis was with a layman who was a hypnotist. He used beautiful relaxing music in the backgroung and had a wonderful soothing voice. He explained that while I would be under hypnosis, I would still be aware of other noises (a baby crying, doorbell, phone, etc) and couldn't be made to do anything I didn't want to do. The feeling is like in deep meditation, or the alpha state, and it's wonderfully pleasant. I lost 20 pound as a result of my sessions with him and 11 lof my friends went also. My allergies also got better.
I didn't have good results with the Psychologist or psychiatrist because they didnl't have the soothing music , voice or imagery that worked for me as did the Hypnotist who was just a hypnotist professionally without being a PHD.
I loved the process and feeling. I think I do remember feeling really tired because the body rarely is in such a wonderful state of relaxation. Talking about stressful things would make you feel crummy and tired. Try another hypnotist. Sometimes psychiatrists are very strange people themselves and you might have a better result and feelilng with another practictioner.Ask if they use music. You know it can soothe the soul. Good Luck.

Yes I have been, and directly afterwards I felt very tired, I struggled to stay awake for the rest of the day. The next day I started feeling down aswell. I think its got to do with what was discussed while under hypnosis. The hypnosis might have been stressful. Anyways, you should maybe call the psychiatrist and ask him/her why you feel down and tired.

Yep. I was depressed way before that though.

I went completely unconscious and woke up talking about mythology and archetypes and remember vaguely having talked a lot about those subjects and how they relate to my experiences

I wouldnt do it again voluntarily. It felt a little like mind rape afterward no offense to the psychiatrist. But I didnt feel that effect until years afterward.

A few have tried but not succeeded. I am terrified of anybody messing with my mind. If I don't understand how my very strange and abnormal mind works, how the h.ll can some 23yr old psychiatrist? I have a philosophy "If it ain't broke don't fix it!"
Whose to say it's broke?

I've had hypnotherapy for a phobia, but she also worked on my confidence.

I didn't go deeply under, but it felt wonderfully relaxing and I felt really good after.
