BCCI should promote the ranji trophy as well as other important tournaments in the country,since these tournaments will produce best players for international fixtures. Young and talented players can be attracted towards cricket ,only if you pay handsome remunerations in lower level matches.
Reasons for nonpromotion are unknown,but now they might have realised it.

ranji trophy is not promoted cuz it is not so famous!
they are held just to sought out players for the under 19 and the international team!!
the BCCI has to use its money extensively on other things also the reason they do not promotr ranji.
