You're probably the best one to answer this, have you tried looking in the Help? If Audition uses sound samples then just select the bit you want to save and choose "Save Selection As..." or similar option (if it exists), make a note of the in/out time codes each time so that you don't get overlap.

Easiest software for editing an audio file is Sony Soundforge..

Just mark up some regions...then highlight them and use cut and 'paste to new winow'...save each segment seperately and you're done !

there is software called mp3 splitter but if you send the file via e mail the person at the other end needs it to put it back togeather.
