know of any place to get free samples of eyeshadows?

Simply walk up to your local nice department store (like Macy's or Nordstrom's) makeup and beauty section. They should have different counters for the different makeup brands. I like MAC, Benefit, and Clinique. If you ask them for makeup tips, they will help you. You can get free samples if you are nice to them. And if you do get a complete makeover, at least buy an eyeshadow or lipgloss from them.
