It's right on the tip of my brain, but I just can't think of it. "Selling out" is the closest thing I can think of, but I'm fairly certain there's another, more specific phrase. Can anyone help me out?

It's been called "selling out" since time began, and probabl;y before that.

I was thinking of "selling out" also or conforming to a more widely 'accepted' standard. I'm not sure exactly what the term is. I'll try doing a little research. Be back in a few.

Okay, I'm back. Could it be "going mainstream"? Becoming "radio-friendly"? "Watered down"?

Well, that's all I could come up with. Hope it helps :).
