Go to your search engine and type in reverse number look up and type in the number it will give you the name

If you think it is a business number, you can try to find it on av.com by putting quotes around it like "509-555-1212" because sometimes people will put numbers in a question forum and there will be answers if the others already know. If it is just a residential number and the other suggestions regarding reverse phone directories (all over the Internet) don't come up with results, just go ahead a call it and say, "Someone called me earlier from your number." Most of the time they say it was the wrong number they had dialed.
