Is Verizon trying to drive customers away with that annoying geek who keeps asking "Can you hear me now?". I have very limited knowledge about Verizon but just seeing their commercials (In fact, even so much as seeing the face of their spokesman) inspires me to remind myself never in my lifetime to sign up with Verizon for any reason whatsoever.

No, they actually have invested a lot of money in that campaign. And like it or not, you have contributed to their brand recognition by posting this question.

Any ad campaign will have some negative response. But the idea is to get some buzz going, so that more people are aware of the brand.

In your case, their efforts have backfired.

Good for you.

It will serve you well to be able to think for yourself

Good luck.

Aren't there more important things to worry about? Verizon's phones works the best. Especially in certain areas or other carriers. The reception and quality of the service is more important than annoying commercials. Just turn it off.
