There is such a large range of when a baby will start to crawl or when they get their first teeth. A baby can even be born with teeth (rare, but it happens)! or they wont get their first little tooth until they are close to a year old. According to my baby book, on avg the first tooth comes in at 6 mths, although as early as 3 or as late as 12. My daughter (now 11 mths) had her first tooth poke through at almost 6 mths, but she started the teething process much earlier, at around 4 1/2 mths. Now she has 8 teeth although I know a little girl the same age who still has just 2.
As for crawling, again to quote my baby book the average age to start is 7 1/2 to 9 mths, although a few as early as 6. Know that some babies never crawl at all, they go straight to walking! Crawling is one of those 'optional' milestones, and there are a lot of different techniques for it. My daughter started the creeping (dragging herself on her belly) method around 8 mths old I think, but just perfected the traditional hands and knees method last mth. Also, it took her around 3 or 4 weeks to learn how to go forward, it was only backwards at the beginning. As parents we should realise that our babies are individuals, there are really no such thing as 'average' babies, and if they are late or early in a certain area it really shouldnt change how special they are to us.

Well...my son got his first tooth today actually!! Yeah, we have been waiting because he has been showing signs for a month to a month and a half or so. He will be 5 months old on Thursday. He hasn't started crawling yet, but he seems to be on the verge. He can get on his hands and his knees, but he can't seem to get on them at the same time yet... Anyway, all kids are different.

Most babies crawl and get there first tooth at about 6 months old. But many babies are different and develop at different paces than others.

Every baby grows and develops at their own pace. Some start as early as 3 months some not until a year old. It doesn't mean that there is anything "wrong" with them or that their are "handicapped" there is no true "gauge" as far as a child's growth and development goes.

Hi, My baby is 8 month old & even he is underweight, but even his activities are very good, he already stand with support & also walk. I play his rhymes on LCD while feeding him solids, then he eats it without any tantrums, you also find out sm tricks to keep him busy while feeding. He is 6mths old that means he should have at least two solid foods in a day. I hope you have introduced him potato & sweet potato as well. Try cheese potato, vegetables soups, keep trying different thing, he ll surely like it. All the best!
