Male Mosquitoes are principally nectar feeders with only the females requiring a meal of blood, except for the Toxorhynchites, which never drinks blood.

Yes, the female is the only one that bites because she the one that carries the parasite which transfer to human. Once she transfer the parasite she dies. Male only their to reproduce.

All females are blood suckers...lol joking. Kind of. Anyway, yes, its true, they need the blood for nutrition. Males in the insect world are kinda just...sperm donors.
