Who has ever gone to an employment agency ?

If you are paid 10 bucks and hour they charged the company a minimum of 2 bucks per hour - just for knowing someone

If that agency wasn't there the company would have to hire you and the middle man would not be pimping you out.

Essentially an employment agency is a pimp living off the avails etc.

Any idea's on how I get the government to ban them?

If you are happy making less than you should because a middle man tooki a profit and takes a profit off your labour good for you.

If you are happy letting companies circumvent the laws around terminating employees without just cause because you don't leagally work for them good for you.

If you think that these agencies do anything more tham pimp you out to a company to make a profit off your back and protect the company's from the law then equally good for you.

If you think it's about taxes and so HR when the tax rolls are computerized and require one person to push a button every two weeks good for you. If you think it's an HR thing that would require perhaps one more part time employee at most to do periodic hireing then good for you.

I am glad you are served by an idustry that uses you as a slave makes money off your back and in return protects your "employer" from the law.

I am not so sure the above is a good thing at all but all the power to you

Employment agencies serve two purposes. They help people who are starting out in the workforce. They help you with your resume and help you tap into the more hidden job market. Even if the work is temporary, any work experience will build up skills and resume, which will ultimately bring you closer to landing that coveted job.
Agencies also help the employers find the best people for jobs. This is especially important for more senior level positions or for companies that might want to keep their identity hidden so they don't get inundated with calls asking about the position.
I've never gone to an employment agency, but I know people who have and most of the positions that they post pay more than 10 bucks an hour.

You expect the government to do something that makes sense?

Besides, if you're an employer, it's easier to hire one service to do your HR work on an as-needed basis than it is to have and maintain an in-house department.

Not to mention, the government uses them...you think they're going to ban a service that they themselves use? Not bloody likely.

To make an employment agency illegal, you will have to change labour legislation. The easiest way bto change legislation is to get your representative/senator to submit the amendment. It is however MUCH more difficult than what it sounds.

The way to start is therefor to get the support of your senator/representative.

(BTW I support employment agencies)

the employment agency i getting paid to more for a reason.
so the company i are doing the work for doesnt have to do your taxes, health, insurance,or workmans comp, just so you can do a temp job.
it is also so they can weed out the bad.
you need to learn more.
your idea doesnt work.
