if so.........when does it occur in pregnant women and if your not pregnant, why does it occur?

Please go take a test. I bet you aren't taking prenatal vitamins, avoiding alcohol, tobacco or over the counter medications, or watching your diet either. Take care of that baby!
Oh, and the linea is caused by the hormones. A lot of women experience tint changes in the skin on the abdomen and face, and I really don't think anyone knows the purpose of it. It usually doesn't happen in very fair skinned women (like me).

If I was you, I'd get a test. The Linea Nigra doesn't show up until about the 4th month. And it doesn't even show with many pregnant ladies. I'm 9 mos pregnant now and I don't have one, this is my 4th pregnancy and I've never had one.

1) test! Pre-natal care is so important!
2) It is known to show at about 5 months.

your hormones jack your whole body up when you're pregnant. they even mess with your skin pigments, that's why you get it. i don't really remember when I got mine, but i definitely noticed it when I really started showing, at about 6-7 months, but everyone's different. I had my son 8 months ago and it has almost faded completely away
