I had premature twin babies. The doctor never recommended boiling the water, he said use bottled water. Do not use spring water though. Spring water is not filtered. If you want to use bottled water, look for water that has been purified or filtered. Spring water is water that is coming from a natural spring out of the water, and has only been filtered by nature, unless it specifies by the company that they filter the water as well. Purified bottled water is your best bet if you do not want to boil water.

Boiled water brings the water to 100 degrees celsius, or 220 degrees F, which kills most, if not all, bacteria. Bottled water (spring water) is not sterile, it is simply from a "spring" - an underground naturally occuring water source. It is untouched by human hands during the bottling process.
Spring water is better than tap water to drink, but boiling tap water will work just fine to sterilize the bottles and nipples. Tap water's less expensive too.
Congrats on the baby.

They recommend you boil water when it is from the tap due to the high lead levels in tap water, or if your baby prefers the formula warm. Which most babies do because your breast milk is warm. But your better off using bay water, you can find baby specific water for just that task at many stores next to spring water and such. It has fluoride in it which is good for babies. It's also inexpensive. It really is okay to serve her water at room temperature too, just as long as it's not cold.

Not all bottled water is 100% sterile. Boiling kills any microorganisms in the water.

Bottled distilled water should be okay. If they come from a reputable manufacturer.

that extremely relies upon on the position you stay because it alternatives up pollution from the ambience. If there is an commercial incinerator, coal fired potential station or chemical plant interior of sight then it really is probable no longer a good theory. in case you stay by skill of the sea or miles from any cities then bypass for it. there is not any consider boiling it till you want a cup of tea, or till that incinerator is for well being facility waste.
