Ive been working for this company for more than 4 years now and ive always dreamt of becoming a manager. Now the tables has been turned and i was offered if i wanted to get the position. It will be a higher step from office administrator to assistant manager. I have few concerns the risk i am taking can affect me , my boss and my company if i failed. I have been wanting this job for a long time now its here im getting scared cos it wont be an easy job.the pay is good. but im not sure how will i be dealing with assholes and people who discriminate me .a woman and a filipina.
I dont know my boss is worried and bothered if i take the job. his actually confusing me too.he even mentioned if i wont take the job he will be relieved. so i dont know if his just selfish or actually making an offer. let me know what you tihnk about it.

Good gosh, you sound as if you're trying to talk yourself out of this opportunity....knock it off!

Take the offer and don't sweat the small stuff.
Whatever happens, the title will look good on your future resume's.

Take the job if you are actually OFFERED it...you will figure the job out. You boss " being relieved" if you don't take the job probably is because he would prefer not to have to find somebody to replace you in the job you have. YES, management does mean dealing with problem people .. if you can't handle that then stay where you are, BUT my opinion is TAKE THE JOB ..we all have to deal with difficult people no matter what the job and if this pays more and they OFFER IT TO YOU then GO FOR IT!

Nah. Stay with the same job you've had for the last 4 yrs. Don't try to accomplish anything. Why take risk when you can just sit on your hands and let someone else make the money an reap the rewards. Hell, you probably can't do the job anyway. You don't want to take on too much responsibility and have to deal with assholes. You probably never have to deal wth them anyway. feel better?

Don't take it. You will not be able to handle stress and eventually it will break you done. I do not think you will be able to function well in that environment. You will not be able to take matters into your own hands, lead under stress, and you will start blaming others because of that. You can accept the position, but more than likely you will be replaced in the future.

IF you really want it, go for it....i know how hard it is being a woman in the business world, but if you want to succeed you have to live with the stereotypes...dont gripe at them, but embrace it as a challenge....if this is your dream, dont give it up b/c of others lowered expectations....show them what you can do...give a 110% and dont think about failure....you make your own success...no one else...cliche...but its true good luck
